Public Housing Flat Rent Change Notice

This is to notify all residents of public housing effective July 1, 2021 there will be an increase in the flat rent schedule for some bedroom sizes on all sites. The new flat rent schedule is as listed below. This increase affects ONLY households who choose the flat rent option over the income based rent option. These increases are the result of the annual review of flat rent and the requirement per PIH Notice 2015-13 to establish flat rent amounts at no less than 80 percent of the applicable fair market rents for our area. 

The specific changes are as follows:

Spinners Court

  • 1 bedroom Current Flat Rent - $390.00 New Flat Rent - No change 
  • 2 bedroom Current Flat Rent - $524.00 New Flat Rent - No change 
  • 3 bedroom Current Flat Rent - $591.00 New Flat Rent - $614.00

Harmony Homes

  • 1 bedroom Current Flat Rent - $372.00 New Flat Rent - No change 
  • 2 bedroom Current Flat Rent - $506.00 New Flat Rent - No change 
  • 4 bedroom Current Flat Rent - $583.00 New Flat Rent - $619.00

Twisted Hickory

  • 1 bedroom Current Flat Rent - $373.00 New Flat Rent - No change 
  • 2 bedroom Current Flat Rent - $510.00 New Flat Rent - No change

Again these changes will only affect households currently paying flat rent in one of the units listed above, and are effective at the next annual rent option or annual re-certification, whichever is first, as of July 1, 2021. At that time we will review your income based rent and your household can determine from this calculation the option which best serves your household, flat rent or income-based.
