The Whiteville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is sponsoring Little Free Libraries in Bladen and Columbus County. A Little Free Library is a "take a book, return a book" free book exchange. Anyone may take a book or bring a book to share. Their goal is provide access to books and promote literacy. The more books in or near the home, the more likely a child will learn and love to read.

The Little Free Library is located at the Benjamin Manor site and their hope is to install them at other sites in the future.
